Black Out Fabric

JoAnn Fabrics is having a 50% off sale of one item. It might be a good chance to get some black out fabric for your windows. The fabric is vinyl coated and does not let in any light. Might be handy thing to have when you are the only one in the neighbor hood who was smart enough to stock up on some kind of light source. It also helps insulate the window and keeps drafts out. Would also be good to hang across the hall ways to block off rooms that you don't need to keep warm, to conserve on heat. ( shower curtain rod, velcro, black out fabric = instant door!) The fabric does not fray, so it does not need to be finished on the edges and can be safety penned for a rod pocket.

Also on sale.... 25% off yarn and 40% off fleece.

Visqueen is another name for this kind of plastic. Black on one side, white on the other. i rented a storage space that has a whole roll of new Visqueen. it's thick too, 3 mils or thicker.

in a pinch, 45 gallon black construction bags work. just can just cut them up into one big flat piece (about 6 by 8 feet) and duct tape them together to get bigger pieces.

Yes, online. I don't know about in the store. Let me know what you find out!

This stuff is not Visqueen. It is what you would use to line drapes with. I have "visqueen" in my garage. But I guess it would work for windows too!
